Clinical and Operational Functions: Preparation of Clinical Areas: Ensure workstations and dental chairs are clean, disinfected, and equipped with the necessary materials before each procedure. Review and organize dental instruments required for scheduled procedures. Assistance During Procedures: Assist the dentist during clinical procedures by providing instruments and materials as needed. Operate the dental suction system and maintain proper visibility of the treatment area. Sterilization and Instrument Handling: Disinfect, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments after use. Monitor the inventory of sterilized instruments and coordinate restocking. Management of Materials and Equipment: Track and maintain inventory of dental materials (e.g., composites, anesthetics, gloves). Request replenishment of supplies as needed to avoid workflow interruptions. Perform basic maintenance on clinical equipment or report technical issues to the appropriate supervisor. Quality Control and Biosafety: Comply with hygiene and biosafety protocols established by the clinic and local health regulations. Safely dispose of clinical waste following applicable regulations. Patient-Related Functions: Patient Care in the Clinical Area: Prepare patients for procedures by positioning them in the dental chair and providing necessary instructions. Take dental X-rays as directed by the dentist, if trained and authorized. Ensure patients feel comfortable and well-informed about the procedures being performed. Updating Clinical Records: Record clinical notes, procedures performed, and materials used in the patientâs file. Coordinate with the front office to ensure complete documentation of treatments. Complementary Administrative Functions: Coordination with the Front Office: Communicate scheduling changes, material requests, or patient concerns to the administrative team. Verify and organize clinical schedules to ensure smooth patient flow. Support for Logistical Activities: Ensure laboratory orders (models, prosthetics, etc.) are ready to be sent or received within the designated timeframe. Ongoing Training: Participate in training sessions on new techniques, procedures, and dental equipment operation.
