Duties Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and care. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, dental charts, and radiographs using medical imaging techniques. Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to patients and team members. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists during four-handed dentistry procedures to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health maintenance, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term wellness. Operate dental equipment such as digital X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and dental fabrication tools effectively. Stay current with advancements in general dentistry practices by participating in ongoing professional development. Experience Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or dental office environment is required. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric dentistry, including treating children’s dental needs with patience and care. Hands-on experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics procedures, and oral surgery is essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to oral structures, infection control standards, and medical documentation practices. Ability to perform comprehensive patient care assessments while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Certification in HIPAA compliance and understanding of medical imaging techniques are advantageous.
