Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including chairside support for procedures such as restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately by updating medical histories, documenting treatment notes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Operate dental software systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to schedule appointments, update medical records, and process billing information efficiently. Support the dental reception area by greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling, and handling administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for medical & dental documentation and record keeping. Experience with digital imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners used in advanced diagnostics. Ability to perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures. Certification or training in vital signs measurement, medical coding, or related areas is advantageous.
