Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall function of the dental team. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to infection control protocols. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while ensuring proper infection control protocols Review and update medical records systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, providing gentle and effective care for young patients Maintain a sterile environment through aseptic techniques and infection control measures Document treatment procedures thoroughly and review documentation for accuracy and completeness Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery Skills Proficiency in Eaglesoft dental software is preferred but not required Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding practices Experience with medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment techniques Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and practices Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently within a fast-paced environment Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques in a dental setting Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security Previous experience in general dentistry or pediatric dental clinics is highly desirable Ability to review documentation accurately and maintain detailed medical records This position is integral to providing outstanding dental care while supporting the health and safety of our patients.
