Overview We are looking for a rockstar Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our private, family practice in Maryville! Our practice is growing and we are excited to announce the addition of a second dentist to the office. We value building relationships with our patients is most important, as many of our patients have been with us for 30 or more years. In this vital role, you'll assist dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Ideally, we would like someone with dental experience but are willing to train someone who has the right personality and is eager to learn. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records efficiently. Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to aid diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry to improve workflow efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health practices tailored to pediatric dentistry needs and general dentistry procedures. Experience Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant is preferred but no necessary Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanning technology is advantageous. Familiarity with dental terminology across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and general dentistry enhances your effectiveness in this role. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent communication with patients of all ages is crucial for success.
