Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice on FRIDAY MORNINGS 9:00 to 1:00. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced hygienists to contribute to a patient-focused environment while working in a supportive team. Candidates must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and knowledgeable about current dental practices and regulations. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and assess patient health status. Assist with chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry techniques. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Capture and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable. Assist in the review of medical coding for billing purposes and ensure proper documentation review. Skills Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and chairside assisting. Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, and medical coding processes. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper handling of medical records. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of infection control and safety protocols. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred.
