Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental practice on Fridays. The ideal candidate will support our clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with a focus on pediatric and general dentistry. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, imaging, and patient care procedures to deliver high-quality service while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while maintaining patient safety and comfort Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic) Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Support front desk activities as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Maintain cleanliness of the clinical environment and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient care delivery in general dentistry and pediatrics Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and radiography (X-ray) techniques Knowledge of dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic for medical records management is highly desirable Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn on the job Job Type: Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
