Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and operate 3D scanners or other medical imaging equipment as needed. Record vital signs and assist with patient comfort measures, including pediatric care when applicable. Manage dental records and medical documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in collaboration with the dental receptionist. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatrics. Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and intraoral procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with dental specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics will be considered a plus. Certification in X-ray operation or other relevant certifications is advantageous but not mandatory for all roles.
