Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Woodhaven, MI

Responsibilities: - Assist the dentist during dental procedures - Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment - Take digital dental x-rays - Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories - Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care - Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns - Ensure compliance with infection control protocols - Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar Skills: - Dental Assisting: Proficient in assisting dentists with various procedures, including chairside assisting, instrument passing, and suctioning. - Medical Records: Knowledge of maintaining accurate and organized patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting treatment plans. - X-Ray: Skilled in taking dental x-rays, ensuring proper positioning and radiation safety protocols. - Eaglesoft: Familiarity with Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and processing insurance claims. - Pediatrics: Experience working with pediatric patients, including behavior management techniques and creating a child-friendly environment. - Infection Control: Thorough understanding of infection control protocols, including proper sterilization of instruments, disinfection of surfaces, and use of personal protective equipment.
