Job Description: The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the clinical and administrative functions of the dental team to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered oral healthcare. This position assists dentists and dental hygienists with diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and surgical procedures, while also helping maintain smooth patient flow and supporting front desk operations as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or at least one (1) year of chairside dental assisting experience. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of chairside dental procedures, infection control practices, and sterilization techniques. Proficiency with dental software, digital X-ray systems, and general office technology. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently. Calm, professional demeanor in fast-paced clinical environments. Bilingual skills a plus (if applicable to patient population). Physical and Environmental Requirements: Mobility: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods throughout the workday. Strength: Frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds (e.g., dental supplies, equipment). Manual Dexterity: Use hands and fingers for precise instrument handling and detailed tasks. Sensory: Must be able to hear conversational speech and use a telephone effectively; visual acuity required for reading charts, taking X-rays, and assisting in detailed dental procedures. Environment: Work is performed in a clinical and office setting with regular exposure to bodily fluids, dental materials, and chemicals used in sterilization and cleaning. Must adhere to PPE and safety protocols. Pace: Requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to frequent interruptions.
