Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our professional dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on comprehensive dental services, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and endodontics. Candidates with experience in dental assisting, familiarity with Eaglesoft and knowledge of HIPAA regulations will thrive in this position. A strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is essential to maintain a safe and efficient clinic environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to safety standards and proper medical imaging procedures Record vital signs and medical history accurately within electronic health records (EHR) system, EagleSoft Maintain infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment and answer questions related to procedures or billing Assist with complex treatments in specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, or pediatric dentistry as required Ensure compliance with all medical documentation standards and assist with medical coding for insurance purposes Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical records management and documentation Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential Experience performing chairside assisting during various dental procedures including restorative work, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry is desirable Familiarity with medical imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners is a plus Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding for insurance claims is beneficial Previous roles involving dental assisting or supporting general dentistry practices will be considered favorably This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient care while working alongside a professional team dedicated to excellence in dentistry.
