Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Oceanside, CA

Welcome to The Proper 32! Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment. A strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient interaction is essential. Tuesday-Friday/Saturday preferred Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques to ensure infection control. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Monitor vital signs and assist in the management of patient comfort throughout their visit. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with clinic policies. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical terminology. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous. Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is essential. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical documentation practices is required. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly valued. Understanding of medical coding and records management is a plus.
