Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing patient experience through efficient procedures and compassionate service. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, dental hygiene, and prosthodontics Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as Dexis. Record detailed patient information including vital signs, medical history, and dental charts using EMR systems like Dentrix. Maintain strict infection control protocols following HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records accurately Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Assist with administrative tasks such as dental reception duties when needed Ensure compliance with all safety standards related to anatomy knowledge, infection control, and medical documentation Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or similar platforms Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, dental coding, and medical documentation practices Familiarity with dental terminology across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and general dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures and infection control protocols Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration Ability to handle medical records management efficiently and accurately Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required This position offers a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about oral health care.
