What that means for hygiene: youâll collaborate at the diagnosis table, align perio therapy with implant/restorative plans, and coach patients through prevention and maintenance around complex casesâwhile working a steady, respectful schedule that protects time for SRP and education. About the Role Join a private practice that treats hygienists as clinical partners. Youâll lead non-surgical periodontal care (SRP) and collaborate with the doctor to co-diagnose, present findings in plain language, and guide patients into appropriate therapy and maintenance. What Youâll Do (the Work That Matters) Provide quadrant-based SRP using powered and hand instrumentation with excellent root debridement and tissue management. Apply staging/grading and risk assessment to recommend therapy, re-eval timing, and maintenance intervals. Co-diagnose with the dentist by integrating clinical/radiographic findings and presenting clear options within scope. Communicate for case acceptance: educate on disease etiology, home-care coaching, and links to systemic health (diabetes, tobacco, etc.). Document defensibly (concise, clinically relevant notes) and collaborate with assistants/front desk for smooth patient flow. What You Bring Active Idaho RDH license (or eligibility by credentials). Meets Idahoâs local anesthesia requirement (Board-approved written and clinical local anesthesia exams); administers local anesthesia under dentist supervision. Confident, consistent SRP skills and re-evaluation habits (4â6 week reassess when indicated). Proficiency with powered instrumentation + site-specific hand instruments; comfortable with intraoral photos and digital imaging. A professional, patient-first communication style and a teamwork mindset.
