Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and patient information within the clinic's systems. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Monitor vital signs as necessary during procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the dental clinic. Qualifications 2+ years of experience and an EFDA Dental Assisting certification Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical imaging techniques is an advantage. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in dental assisting is a plus.
