Dental Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparing patients for dental work Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedure Assisting dental hygienists with procedures when necessary Providing great patient care Recording accurate treatment information in patient records Taking dental radiographs Giving patients information on dental hygiene and oral health care Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist Caring for dental equipment and maintaining inventory Forming preliminary impressions for study casts and bite registrations Fabricating temporary restorations Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary Dental Assistant Requirements: Registered Dental Assistant (preferred but not required). High school diploma or equivalent.
