Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. Prior experience with systems such as Dentrix, preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to all safety and medical documentation standards. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging as required Maintain strict infection control and aseptic techniques throughout all procedures Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including anatomy knowledge, dental terminology, and infection prevention standards Assist with advanced technology procedures including 3D scanning when applicable Collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal patient care Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is essential Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices in dental environments Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures including X-ray taking and medical imaging Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and support team collaboration Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills directly contribute to patient health and satisfaction.
