Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support dental practitioners in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures using chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Record vital signs and medical history, update medical documentation, and manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Manage medical records and assist with medical coding as required for insurance processing. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics to facilitate effective communication within the team. Ensure compliance with all infection control standards and sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner operation. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and infection control practices is essential for success in this role.
