Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining a sterile environment. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging; operate 3D scanners when required Record vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse; monitor patient comfort throughout procedures Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of treatments and medical history Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical documentation Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient experience Assist with medical coding for billing purposes related to dental procedures Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms; familiarity with medical coding is a plus Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures; experience in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is advantageous Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration Ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA regulations Certification in chairside assisting; additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatrics are beneficial Flexibility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and professionalism Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.99 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
