Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques Take dental X-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental wellness Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, disinfecting treatment areas, and adhering to OSHA standards Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical documentation for accurate records Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical records management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures in a dental clinic setting Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and the unique needs of pediatric patients Competence in using advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics Understanding of medical coding for billing purposes related to dental procedures Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and dentist in endodontics or prosthodontics Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us in creating healthier smiles!
