Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and support overall oral health education. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure a comfortable and efficient experience for all patients, including pediatric and general dentistry cases. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using advanced imaging technology. Assist with chairside procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care strategies. Adhere to all dental terminology standards and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft. Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or both is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively during various procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems and medical imaging technology. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records management. Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable.
