Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs and medical history to support safe treatment planning for patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing medical records efficiently Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures while maintaining a sterile environment Assist with medical imaging procedures and record keeping related to dental and medical terminology Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical coding is a plus Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in dental settings Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in taking X-rays including 3D scans Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical terminology accurately Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred; comfort working with children is essential Certification or training in chairside assisting, X-ray safety, and infection control standards is highly desirable Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us in creating healthier smiles!
