We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our ever growing pediatric dental office. The ideal candidate will be a team player, providing exceptional patient care, ensure infection control, and assist with various dental procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your pediatric dentistry and orthodontic skills. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and infection control protocols, with experience in pediatric dentistry being a plus. Prior experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Patience with kids is a must. Dental Assistants with a coronal polishing certificate have a unique place in pediatrics as they have their own hygiene column, just like dental hygienists. Greet patients and parents, review medical history, x-ray history, take x-rays, and coronal polishing. Plus, you also get to watch cartoons all day! Our office is fully electronic, and experience with computers is required Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to aseptic techniques Take X-rays and including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols Review medical history, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records Dentrix Ascend Manage patient flow efficiently by updating medical records and ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient privacy Provide patient education on oral health, post-operative care, and treatment plans Assist with infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA standards Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and common conditions. Experience Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation practices is advantageous Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging techniques is desirable Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential for success in this role Salary is commensurate with experience. Range $28-32/hour with extra pay for fluent Spanish speakers. *MUST have current California coronal polishing and x-ray certification. RDA Certification is not required for this position, although it is definitely welcome.
