Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is highly desirable. The position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and aseptic techniques to deliver comprehensive dental services. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols Take and develop X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring patient comfort and safety Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Assist with medical imaging procedures and maintain proper documentation of all treatments performed Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information, processing medical coding, and handling medical documentation Maintain knowledge of dental terminology related to general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, and endodontics to facilitate effective communication within the team Skills Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar platforms Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards Experience with X-ray procedures and digital imaging technology including 3D scanners Knowledge of dental terminology across various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of dental assisting This position is ideal for candidates passionate about providing quality dental care within a professional team dedicated to patient well-being. Prior experience in dental clinics is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific software systems.
