We are seeking a Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist to work Wednesdays and Fridays, split between our Berkeley and Lafayette locations. Summary of Essential Job Functions Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines, Assist the dentist during examinations. Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygienist procedures: Document medical and dental histories from patients Chart perio conditions based on observations and evaluations as well as dentist findings Able to co-diagnose with dentist provide debridement, prophy, perio maintenance, scaling and root planning Scheduling next re-care visit Sterilize dental instruments and tools Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care Take digital X-rays Deliver local anesthetic and nitrous oxide Apply sealants and fluoride Required Qualifications: Current California RDH License/BLS Training Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills Ability to work independently Physical Abilities Required Should be able to assist wheel chair/geriatric patients in and out of the dental chair. Must be able to hear people on the phone and in person in order to communicate information properly. Must have vision adequate to read written materials, computer screens, forms, and other clinical documents. Must have high manual dexterity.
