Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. This role requires a strong knowledge of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, with experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry preferred. The RDH will utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to document patient information accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records. Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and proper hygiene techniques tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhere to OSHA guidelines. Support the dental team with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with dentists for treatment planning and provide support during general dentistry procedures. Monitor patient vital signs throughout appointments and recognize any health concerns requiring attention or referral. Uphold all dental terminology standards and ensure proper documentation of procedures performed. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, anatomy, medical imaging, and medical terminology. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and chairside assisting. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices related to dental procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively across all age groups. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of patient care. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control procedures necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
