Dental Hygienist - Smith Family and Cosmetic Dentistry - Wilmington, NC

$2,000.00 sign on bonus Duties: - Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments - Take and develop dental x-rays - Conduct oral cancer screenings - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care - Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed - Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials - Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary - Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment Skills: - Proficient in recording patient information accurately - Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology - Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems - Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent cross-contamination - Skilled in conducting patient assessments to identify oral health issues and develop appropriate treatment plans - Thorough understanding of infection control protocols to minimize the risk of transmission of infectious diseases - Excellent medical documentation skills to ensure accurate recording of patient information and treatment details - Familiarity with managing and maintaining electronic medical records This is not an exhaustive list of duties or skills required for the position.
