Duties Assist dentists during various procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and medical coding within EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and anatomy knowledge to support patient safety and comfort throughout their visit. Operate dental equipment efficiently, including intraoral cameras and X-ray machines, while adhering to infection control standards. Greet patients as a friendly dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, answering questions about procedures, and managing patient flow smoothly. Support infection control practices by following established protocols for sterilization and handling of dental instruments to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to facilitate effective communication within the team. Experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and aseptic technique. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision. Familiarity with infection control standards specific to dental clinics to maintain a sterile environment. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist in treating young patients. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records and supporting administrative tasks as a dental receptionist when needed.
