Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments by providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using our EMR (Electronic Medical Records) - Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care instructions, post-operative care, and explain treatment plans using clear dental terminology. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation efficiently. Support infection control practices by following established protocols for sterilization and handling of contaminated materials. Assist with medical imaging procedures and record keeping for comprehensive dental care, including pediatrics when applicable. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on general dentistry or pediatric dentistry preferred but not required, we are happy to train on the job! Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is essential. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and 3D scanner technology is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Experience supporting specialized areas such as prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus but not required. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred; ongoing training in Epic or other medical coding systems is beneficial.
