Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all patients. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is essential, along with experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and maintain high standards of clinical excellence. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and calculus using appropriate instruments. Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs and medical history updates in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, ensuring proper aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs. Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities within EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control procedures are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Support pediatric dentistry services when required, providing compassionate care to young patients. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and current best practices in dental hygiene. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatrics preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform patient care activities efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and vital signs assessment. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health practices. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
