Dental Hygienist Job Summary Deliver comprehensive hygiene care with a strong focus on prevention, patient education, and long-term oral health outcomes. General Accountabilities Provide exceptional and compassionate preventive dental care while delivering high quality service Educates patients to feel confident, informed and empowered in their health decisions Fosters a welcoming and respectful environment that prioritizes patient work and clinical excellence Uses dental instruments to check and clean gums Feels lymph nodes to detect swelling or tenderness associated with dental disease Examines gums for sores or disease using probes and other dental instruments. Applies fluoride and other cavity protectors Charts and records conditions of disease for diagnosis and treatment Takes X-rays Administers local anesthetics, as directed Provides patient with proper instruction for treatment of disease.
