Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist (R.D.H.) to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing preventive oral health care, patient education, and assisting the dental team in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, periodontal assessments, and prophylaxis procedures with precision and care Take and record vital signs, medical history, and assess patient health status Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation and record keeping Assist with chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry techniques Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans Conduct medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge in pediatrics and working effectively with young patients Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care Keep up-to-date with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review practices Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (R.D.H.) Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or a dental clinic setting preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment accurately Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to all age groups, especially pediatrics Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards for accurate documentation Experience in chairside assisting, medical records management, and documentation review is advantageous Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position offers an engaging work environment dedicated to delivering high-quality dental care through skilled teamwork and advanced clinical practices.
