Overview Join our dynamic dental team in our growing office as a Part-Time Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a friendly, professional environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in dental hygiene, promote oral health, and support our commitment to providing top-quality general dentistry services. We have a non traditional schedule, so we are looking for someone available to work every Wednesday, and every other Monday and Friday (for a total of 2 days/week). You will work closely with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout their dental visits. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information and health. Experience Proven experience as a dental hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or general dentistry practice. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively while demonstrating compassion and professionalism. Prior experience in infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and maintaining medical records aligned with HIPAA standards.
