Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic while assisting with various dental procedures and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use, adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays, utilizing medical imaging technology while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, including medical coding and documentation of vital signs. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering an understanding of dental health. Manage appointment scheduling and perform dental receptionist duties as needed to facilitate patient flow. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft to document patient information efficiently. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Dentrix or Eaglesoft Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques. Experience with medical documentation practices and maintaining accurate medical records. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while demonstrating excellent infection control measures. Familiarity with 3D scanning technology is a plus; experience in general dentistry is essential. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members alike.
