Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry(crowns, fillings, Implants), prosthodontics( bridges and dentures), endodontics, and Orthodontics ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and exposure while maintaining patient safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft; document treatment details and medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medical documentation by recording vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information for each patient visit. Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and managing processes. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards; ensure all tools are sterilized properly. Support chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive oral health practices. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including taking vital signs, medical imaging, and chairside support across various specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics. Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft for managing electronic health records efficiently. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is mandatory. Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Certification in X-ray operation or radiography is preferred; ongoing professional development in dental assisting is encouraged.
