Overview Cutting edge privately owned single General Dentist practice in Lexington, SC has an immediate opening for a full-time Office Coordinator/Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. We are NOT a corporate office; our TEAM provides the best care possible for our incredible patients. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our AMAZING team. This position involves a 60/40 split of responsibilities, with approximately 60% of time dedicated to office coordination and administrative functions. Administrative duties include; filing Dental Insurance and following up on all outstanding claims, presenting financial arrangements, managing collections, preparing daily and end-of-month production and collection reports, scheduling, financial reporting, billing, and overseeing accounts receivable. The Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care by supporting dentist during clinical procedures and expanded functions across a wide range of dental procedures. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and office efficiency. Experienced in filing & processing claims with Dental Insurance companies Experienced with following-up on all outstanding insurance claims Eaglesoft proficient Technologically proficient Willing to learn & grow as an office Experienced in leveraging technology to improve efficiency and outcomes Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues independently A Great Attitude Strong Work Ethic and organizational skills Desire to provide the VERY BEST in patient care Punctuality and a giving spirit Graduate of an ADA accredited dental assisting program Additional Experience … Eaglesoft Filing Dental Insurance and following up on all outstanding claims Daily and end-of-month production and collection reports Financial reports Scheduling appointments Managing collections Implant surgeries Bone grafting Digital Scanning Duties Set up financial arrangements, collect payments from patients and insurance companies Direct and ensure compliance of office personnel on company policy regarding collection procedures and practices Plan, direct, and coordinate supportive services of the Practice, ie recordkeeping, mail distribution, billing, and other support services Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficacy Always Maintain a low Accounts Receivables (A/R) Present financing options and make necessary arrangements Assist dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information accurately Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards Manage patient records using EMR system Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation Provide patient education on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance Handle administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, medical documentation, and managing medical coding for billing purposes Maintain infection control standards and ensure all clinical areas adhere to OSHA guidelines Qualifications Technologically proficient Demonstrate strong digital literacy Experienced in leveraging technology to improve efficiency and outcomes Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues independently Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic role with knowledge of general dentistry procedures Familiarity with EMR system Eaglesoft, experience with medical documentation and records management Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray imaging and operate 3D scanners safely and effectively Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages and collaborating with team members Ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and healthcare documentation standards is advantageous Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Paid time off Experience: filing & processing Dental Insurance claims: 2 years (Required) Dental assisting: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: EDDA (Required) Work Location: In person
