Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. We are a busy oral surgery practice looking for a RDA that can travel between our Crossville and Oak Ridge offices. In this vital role, you will support dentists by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including oral surgery and exams. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and adhering to aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment notes. Perform chairside assisting tasks including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients using dental terminology, and assisting with medical documentation and coding when necessary. Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current state licensure or registration. Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics. Proficiency with EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards.
