Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using appropriate aseptic techniques. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic). Maintain patient comfort through chairside assisting and effective communication. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Manage dental records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed. Assist with the operation of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners when required. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Certification or training in chairside assisting is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical records management. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
