Dental Assistant Key Responsibilities Assist the dentist in providing care for patients, treating them with dignity and respect. Take vital signs and review patient health history, updating as necessary. Provide initial evaluations for emergency patients and complete medical consults. Prepare and organize instruments and materials for procedures. Assist in the transfer of instruments and preparation/delivery of dental materials. Expose and process x-rays, retaking them when necessary. Maintain and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and workspaces to ensure infection control. Complete and review patient forms, consents, and treatment plans. Provide patients with postoperative instructions and support. Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning and organizing the clinic. Dental Assistant Desired Skills and Qualifications 1 year of Dental Assistant experience Required: Dental Radiology and CPR/First Aid certification. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and team members. Knowledge of modern office equipment, systems, and procedures. Preferred: Bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking).
