Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a surgical Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during surgeries, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile environment in accordance with infection control protocols. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared. Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas. Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with medical imaging. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical coding for insurance purposes. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients and assisting with their specific needs. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with dental systems. Experience in infection control practices within a clinical setting. Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance. Previous experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required. Ability to perform medical imaging techniques as needed. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
