Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice, working four days a week. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental team. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using dental imaging equipment. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Prepare treatment rooms with proper aseptic techniques and ensure infection control protocols are followed. Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support general dentistry procedures through chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Monitor and record vital signs during appointments as needed. Maintain thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to support accurate documentation and billing processes. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing. Proven experience with dental office systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR platforms. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques. Experience working in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required; familiarity with pediatrics is advantageous. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical records management. Ability to perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques. Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and documentation review processes. Prior experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable.
