Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient education, preventative care, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and documentation. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care delivery. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and current best practices in general dentistry and pediatrics. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing. Experience with dental office management software Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including pediatric-specific procedures and patient management. Proficiency in medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and chairside assisting techniques. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices. Experience working with EMR systems and reviewing medical records for documentation accuracy. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety protocols.
