Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and adherence to HIPAA and infection control protocols. Experience with EMR systems and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive oral health services in a professional setting. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental health status. Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient records, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a gentle approach for young patients. Follow aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to ensure a sterile environment. Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; assist with medical coding as needed for billing purposes. Ensure compliance with all dental terminology standards, OSHA guidelines, and clinic policies. Experience Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Familiarity with dental office software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or EMR systems. Prior experience in dental assisting or chairside assisting is advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care with compassion and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
