Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained. Take dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments following infection control guidelines. Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when necessary. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is NOT essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical coding and documentation is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices when working with children patients. Certification or training in chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and medical imaging is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
