Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Chicago, IL

Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental team. Experience with EMR systems, pediatric dentistry, and dental terminology is highly valued. Duties Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates Assist with patient assessment and review medical histories for accuracy and completeness Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry and pediatric treatments Operate medical imaging equipment to capture intraoral radiographs as needed Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Document treatment procedures accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before finalizing patient records Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to patient care and office operations Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred Knowledge of dental assisting, chairside assisting, and medical coding is advantageous Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and infection control procedures is desirable Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, is beneficial Experience in documentation review, medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and patient care enhances candidacy Certification in dental hygiene or equivalent licensure required; ongoing education in dental terminology, infection control, and medical records management is encouraged Join our team to make a difference in patients' lives through quality oral healthcare while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment.
