We are open to a full 4-day schedule or part-time work in a friendly team & family-oriented atmosphere. Days and hours are negotiable for the right candidate. We are a surgical periodontal & implant surgery practice that is not corporate owned. Duties Perform comprehensive periodontal dental cleaning, periodontal charting, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining good dental health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Review documentation for accuracy, update medical history as needed, and maintain meticulous records of patient care activities Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental hygiene, preferably within periodontal dentistry or general dentistry Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable but not required. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Sterilizing and running instruments after each patient, being part of a team to ensure sterilization is efficiently completed. Ability to perform chair-side assisting duties efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards Familiarity with periodontal dentistry practices is a plus, along with experience with a high volume of SRP patients. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members on treatment plans & ability to communicate to referring dental offices through completing a patient recall summary for each patient seen.
