Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical documentation and records Provide patient education on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards Assist with administrative duties such as data entry, billing support, and medical coding as needed Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatric dental procedures and anatomy Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation compliance Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring is desirable Background in pediatric dentistry or experience working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification or training in dental assisting or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential for success in this role This position provides an excellent platform for professional growth within the field of dentistry while contributing to the health and well-being of our patients.
