Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing patient flow. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Assist with dental procedures involving medical documentation, medical coding, and accurate recording of treatment details. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical records management is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
