Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Seattle, WA

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant and/or Sterilization Tech to join our dental practice. This role is vital to ensuring efficient patient care, maintaining strict infection control standards, and supporting the clinical team with various assisting and sterilization duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dexis is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation. Responsibilities Assist periodontists during chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring Prepare and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques in compliance with infection control protocols Manage sterilization equipment and maintain a sterile environment for all clinical procedures Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanner while adhering to safety standards Record accurate medical and dental information using EMR systems Assist with patient intake by updating medical records, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation Maintain inventory of supplies and order materials as necessary for daily operations Requirements Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required Knowledge of dental assisting techniques, infection control practices, and aseptic procedures Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is desired This position provides an essential role within our practice by ensuring seamless clinical operations while upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
