Job Summary Education & Certification Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential from TSBDE is required for this job. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) usually required. Basic Life Support / CPR certification is typically required and kept current. Professional Skills & Experience Experience in dental assisting or clinical work (often 1–2+ years preferred). Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, infection control, and x-ray procedures. Comfort assisting dentists in clinical procedures (e.g., four-handed dentistry). Computer skills for scheduling, patient records, and digital charting. Soft Skills Professional communication with patients and team members. Detail-oriented and reliable work habits. Team-oriented mindset and ability to multitask. Preferred (Not Always Required) Additional certifications like Nitrous Oxide Monitoring , Pit & Fissure Sealant , or Coronal Polishing can make you more competitive (though separate requirements exist to perform those expanded duties).
